With 407 wins, Penn State coach Joe Paterno is a victory away from tying the legendary Eddie Robinson for second on the all-time list for college coaches.

The Nittany Lions (6-1, 3-0 Big Ten) play at Northwestern (2-4, 0-3 Big Ten) in a 7 p.m. Big Ten game. The Big Ten Network is televising the game.

Robinson, who passed away at age 88 in 2007, coached at Grambling, a historically black college. Saint John’s (Minn.) University coach John Gagliardi is first on the all-time list with 480 wins.

Let’s recap Week 4, shall we?

No. 5 Oklahoma State (4-0, 1-0 Big 12) at No. 14 Texas A&M (2-1, 0-1 Big 12)

Pregame rant: Great conference opener for these two Big 12 titans, but something has to give here. The Cowboys are second in the nation in total offense at 601 yards a game and third in the nation in points per game at 52.3. However, the Aggies has given up a total of 534 yards and 21 total points in their two games.

Postgame commentary: Down 20-3 at the half, Oklahoma State scored 27 straight points and withstood a final charge from Texas A&M to prevail. Senior Brandon Weeden threw for a school-record 438 yards and two touchdowns on 60 pass attempts. The amazing thing about that is Weeden didn’t throw an interception.

Let’s recap Week 2, shall we?

Notre Dame (0-2) at Michigan (2-0)

Pregame rant: Don’t let Denard Robinson’s mortal performance against Western Michigan fool you. Robinson rushed for 258 yards and two touchdowns at Notre Dame in 2010. Look for another big effort Saturday.

Postgame commentary: In Michigan’s first night game ever at the Big House, Robinson threw for 338 yards and four touchdowns, ran for 108 more yards and a score as Michigan won a thriller, 35-31. Three touchdowns were scored in the last minute, 12 seconds as Robinson threw the game-winning touchdown with two seconds left. The guy just makes plays.
