Mercyhurst has signed shooting guard Maryssa Agurs of Keystone Oaks in the early signing period. Agurs is one of the most accomplished shooting guards in KO history and averaged 15.1 ppg. as a junior. An honor student, she will major in sociology/psytchology and minor in coaching. She chose Mercyhurst for its education programs and location.
Agurs had 27 points in a 59-57 overtime win over Mars Monday night.
Mercyhurst coach Deanna Richard signed six freshmen for this season, with three from the WPIAL including guard Katie Fischer (Ambridge), point guard Mariah Penascino (Bethel Park) and forward Natalie Piaggesi (Seton La Salle), all who have started.
