General McLane graduate Sarah Hansen scored 15 points today while helping the Florida Gulf Coast women’s basketball team clinch its fourth consecutive Atlantic Sun Conference title with a 74-73 overtime victory over Stetson.
Hansen, a senior guard, added seven rebounds and three assists as the Eagles improved to 23-7 overall and finished the A-Sun season with a 17-1 record. Stetson finished the regular season at 24-6, 16-2.
FGCU’s Stephanie Haas made two free throws with 2 seconds remaining in overtime to clinch the win.
Hansen has led FGCU in scoring and rebounding in each of her four seasons while helping the Eagles to those four conference championships.
The Eagles will be the No. 1 seed in next week’s Atlantic Sun tournament.
