Cathedral Prep graduate John Chereson is a freshman kicker for the Irish after joining the team as a preferred walk-on.
Meanwhile, Oil City grad Ben Koyack opens his junior season with Notre Dame. The 6-foot 5-inch, 261-pound tight end played in 12 games last season and started in the BCS National Championship Game against Alabama. Koyack finished with three receptions for 39 yards. He has played in 24 games over two seasons.
Koyack is District 10′s career receiving leader with 152 receptions for 2,591 yards.
Chereson closed his Prep career with 135 extra-point kicks and 14 field goals and was a standout on kickoffs for the Ramblers.
Notre Dame opens the season Aug. 31 at home against Temple.
