Download it: “Cry for Help” by Shinedown

This is a late-in-the-race go-to song for me — it’s my “kick it in” song. I love the fast beat/pace of the song and this line in the chorus speaks to me at the end of the race when it becomes all mental: “Because a mind is a weapon, you see; But you’re not gonna use it on me.”

Shinedown, in general, offers some seriously bad-ass running music that’s perfect for race day or fast tempo runs.

I also love Shinedown’s “Devour,” “What a Shame,” and “Second Chance” (and pretty much all the songs on the “Sounds of Madness” CD):
