Old Man Winter bike race at Wilderness Lodge

As promised, here’s the link to my Her Times story about my experience cross-country skiing at the Wilderness Lodgecross-country ski touring center in Wattsburg. Dan and I had a great time and, like I said before, it’s the perfect cross training for runners.

If, um….we had snow. And, um…we don’t. So….The Wilderness Lodge has decided to switch gears (pun intended) and it is hosting a different kind of (snow-free) event. Here’s a note from the lodge:

On Sunday, February 12, the Wilderness Lodge we will be hosting our first ever Old Man Winter KMA Mountain Bike Race at the Lodge. Course to be determined, but we can tell you that it won’t be on our normal ski trails. Proceeds will benefit the American Cancer Society. If, by some miracle, we have snow, it will be a snowshoe race instead. More info to follow!

I’ll keep you posted when I hear more (or you can “like” them on Facebook). For now, just mark your calendars to participate in this event which, hopefully, will be held in the afternoon so that you can do the ERC Valentine’s Day Prediction race in the morning and the Wilderness Lodge Old Man Winter Race in the afternoon.
