Mother’s Day 5K

Mother Nature smiled on the directors of the Erie Runners Club’s Mother’s Day 5K, giving them and the 650 participants near perfect race conditions on Sunday morning–sunny and cool with clear, blue skies.

Complete results here.

Women’s Care Center 5K

The Women’s Care Center 5K had 83 finishers on Saturday at Presque Isle State Park.  The results (here) are a little weird because they just say under 18 and over 18 — Talk about large age groups!  My guess is that it was a benefit race without awards.

Speaking of which….

Rink Assassins 5K

The Rink Assassin’s 5K run/walk in Meadville on Saturday evening was a true “fun run” with do-it-yourself results (as in, look at the clock when you finish) and no bibs, or official timing.

What it lacked in official race stuff, it more than made up for with cool stuff like kids with Nerf guns shooting at you from the woods (pick up a dart and you get a door prize — I did!), a live band, a full buffet with yummy cookies, and, for those who stayed long enough (we couldn’t), a roller derby demonstration by the Rink Assassins Dolls of Doom and the Eerie Roller Girls.

There were probably close to 50 people running and a good time was had by all. Here are a few photos I snapped:
