Racers, lace up your shoes

Several local races to choose from this weekend:

Stanganelli’s Pepperoni Ball Jog ‘n Hog — Saturday

Here’s a unique race you don’t want to miss (bring your cameras!). A 4-mile run that includes a stop in the middle to down a half dozen pepperoni balls. Race starts at 8:30 a.m. on Saturday, June 16 at Beach No. 1 at Presque Isle State Park. Details here.

Race to Wellness 5K — Saturday

This 3.1 mile race starts at 9 a.m. Saturday at 1 Park Ave. in nearby Ripley, N.Y. Details here.

The Sunset Shuffle (The Ice Cream Race) — Saturday

This evening 5K race offers a post-run party worth running for with a DJ, dancing, picnic dinner and an ice cream sundae bar.  Held at the Harborcreek Community Park, there is a kid’s 3/4 mile race at 7 p.m. with the 5K race to follow at 7:15 p.m. Details here.

 

David C. Schmidt Father’s Day 5K — Sunday

This 5K race starts at Beach 6 on Sunday — Father’s Day — at 9 a.m.  Details here.
