Snow or no snow, the Erie Runner’s Club’s 9th annual Charity Snowflake 5K is this Saturday, Dec. 8, at 10 a.m. at the Rotary Pavilion at Presque Isle State Park.
The cool thing (pun intended) about this race is that the premium is a set of two 9-0z. stemless glasses imprinted with the race logo. So, if you’ve got too many race t-shirts stuffed in your drawers, this might be the race for you.
This is typically a festive “fun” run with many runners dressing in red and green, donning jingle bells, or wearing a Santa Hat.
Day of race registration is $20 and begins at 8:30 a.m. at the Rotary. Proceeds benefit several charities. This year’s recipients are: SafeNet, the Shriner’s Hospitals for Children, the A.N.N.A. Shelter, GreySave, the Northstar Equine Foundation, and Orphan Angels.
Race application with all the details can be found here.
Online registration here (it will close a few days before the event).
ERC’s December Meeting
The ERC is trying something new and is hosting it’s monthly meeting right after the Snowflake 5K at the Rotary Pavilion (instead of the typical Monday night at 7 p.m. at the Plymouth). This change was made at the request of members who can’t make it the Monday evening meetings (for instance, some work 2nd shift, etc.).
