Those who completed the ERC’s Winter Series today definitely earned the chairs they were awarded (see above) after running on icy courses for both the New Year’s Day run and today’s St. Paddy’s Day run.
*sigh* Yep, it was another snowy/icy race at the park today. But by the time the 10K started at 10 a.m., some of the ice/snow had begun to melt and there were bare spots on the course. After the turn around, on the bay side, racers were blasted with a nasty headwind. I don’t know about you, but I’m ready for spring. Ugh.
Despite the snow, cold and wind, more than 786 people finished one of the three (10K, 5K and 2 mile walk) events. Some even did two races and took Jim Lang’s Winter Distance Festival challenge, completing both the 5K & the 10K.
Complete race results can be found here (Distance Festival results to come soon).
