OTTERS UPDATE: Otters’ captain McKegg earns OHL honor

Erie Otters captain Greg McKegg has been named the OHL’s player of the week for the third time this season. He had four goals, all in a win against Owen Sound, and eight points in three games last week.

McKegg topped Windsor defenseman Ryan Ellis (one goal, nine points) and London forward Vladislav Namestnikov (five goals, seven points) for the honor. Oshawa goaltender Peter Di Salvo (3-0 record, 1.95 goals-against average, .941 save percentage) also was considered for the award. McKegg earned weekly honors for the weeks of Sept. 27-Oct. 3 and Nov. 22-28.
