OTTERS UPDATE: Spitfires’ Jones angry over Otters’ play

Windsor Spitfires coach Bob Jones wasn’t happy with the Erie Otters‘ apparent lack of sportsmanship late in the game.

Here’s a quote from Jones, courtesy of the The Windsor Star:

“I have nothing but respect for (Otters managing partner/GM) Sherry Bassin and (coach) Robbie Ftorek, but I’ve lost all of it. It’s a 6-1 game and you’ve got your No. 1 unit out on the power play with a guy (Brett Thompson) that already has a hat trick. It was classless and it will not be forgotten. It’s on from now on.”

These teams don’t meet again in the regular season, as they split the four-game series. But they could meet in the OHL play0ffs.

Looks like Jones talks out of both sides of his mouth as he ran up score against Brampton 7-1 the very next day.
