The Mercyhurst University women’s hockey team are ninth in the USCHO.com Division I poll for the second straight week. The Lakers (3-0-1), which won and tied at Quinnipiac this past weekend, received 36 points in the latest poll, which was released Monday.
Minnesota (4-0-0) unanimously held onto the No. 1 spot with 15 first-place votes and 150 points, followed by Cornell (0-0-0) at No. 2.
Boston University (1-0-0) rose from sixth to third ahead of defending national champion Wisconsin (3-0-1). Boston College (0-1-0) fell to fifth from third. North Dakota (1-1-0), Clarkson (2-0-0-), Northeastern (2-0-0), Mercyhurst (3-0-1) and Ohio State (4-0-0) rounded out the top 10. Providence (1-1-0), which faces the Lakers in a two-game series at Mercyhurst Ice Center this weekend, earned two votes. The Friars split two games with Bemidji State this past weekend.
