OTTERS EXTRA: Burakovsky not eligible for OHL’s rookie scoring title

Erie Otters rookie winger Andre Burakovsky, 18, was atop the OHL’s rookie scoring list one day. Then he was off the list the next.
According to league rules, he isn’t eligible for the rookie scoring title because of he’s too old. The rule is as follows:
“In order to be considered a rookie in the Ontario Hockey League, a player must begin their first season of play in their seventeenth (17th) birth year or younger. Second-year players that are in their seventeenth (17th) birth year or younger would also receive rookie status if they played in less than a quarter of the regular season the previous year.”
