Seven members of the 2013 draft class – Sean Kohler (6th round), Patrick Fellows (7th round), T.J. Fergus (8th round), Frank Pucci (12th round), Jack Scanlan (13th round), Owen Headrick (14th round) and Trayvon Henry (15th round) – headlined the Erie Otters’ opening round of camp cuts. The club also cut free agents Brady Allen, Matthew Bell, Anton Bura, Teilen Celentano, Brett Dykstra, Arun Kumar and Alexander Row.
That leaves 44 players in camp, which will be divided into two teams for Thursday’s workouts. Six free agents survived cut day – Cameron Etherington, Nolan Dunn, Jeff St. Pierre, Fabrizio Ricci, Khadyn Butterfly, Cristiano DiGiacinto and Matt Marsden. The Otters also have five players from the 2013 class left – top three picks Dylan Strome, Jesse Saban, Cole Mayo, fifth-rounder Trent Fox (younger brother of F Dane Fox) and CHL first-round pick Andre Burakovsky, who arrived late Wednesday and will be on the ice Thursday.
