Byham is by no means the only offensive threat Girard has on its boys basketball team, but the 5-foot 7-inch senior guard was the main offensive weapon in a crucial 51-44 win over Central Tech on Jan. 31.
He scored 27 points, including six 3-pointers, in the Region 7 win. In his 27-point performance, Byham scored the YellowJackets’ first 18 points to set the tone early.
Byham leads Girard at 10.4 points per game this season and is a big reason why the ’Jackets are in the mix for a playoff spot.
