Will you be blogging both games Thursday night at Edinboro?
I will be blogging from Edinboro. We will hopefully also have someone at McLane for updates.
Thanks,
Tom
You mean updates from Slippery Rock
I misread that. I thought you said Tuesday. I will be blogging from the Boro on Thursday as well and hopefully have updates from SR and Gannon on Thursday.
Thanks,
Tom
Any initial thoughts Tom? I think the Sharpsville boys caught a really good first round game. On the other hand Lakeview (who won the region) is going to have to face a tougher opponent. Saeg got lit up by Seneca and Lakeview. NW and Fairview will give LV everything they can handle. This is the problem w/3 regions? A team like Saeg hasn’t (IMO) earned that high of a seed and someone has to suffer (Lakeview) and someone gets rewarded (Sharpsville). Of course they have to play the games and Saeg can prove me wrong.
I wonder if the Seneca boys program is looking at these playin games and a little ticked off….? I would be if i were them.
I like the concept of regional balance but i don’t think Wilm has earned the right to be in. I also don’t really understand D10 not wanting to schedule regional opponents in the first round. It really messes up seeding and ends up being detrimental to a higher seed.
Great job by the committee. Play in games eliminate almost all of the problems that can come up. Good luck to all the teams.
Is the NW vs Fairview tie breaker set in stone?
JT,
Make sure to get on the blog at 7 p.m. so we can go through the brackets.
Thanks,
Tom
Yes they play Tuesday night.
Thanks,
Tom
why is it every yr general Mclane plays a home playoff game at Edinboro? aren’t the sites suppose to be neutral for both teams
Adam,
General McLane went 21-0 and is facing a play-in game winner. Where should they play?
Thanks,
Tom
I don’t know about Harbor Creek’s following attendence wise, but General McLane and Franklin draw many fans to playoff games. You need a facility to meet the needs. You don’t want to turn people away. Only other place is Civic Center and that is booked usually and I sure would be more costly…plus you need set up for more than one game. GM and Grove City deserve draws in back yard as well as other top seeds. Meadville would be a good neutral site, but there is not a facility to handle the crowd. GM is from Edinboro yes…but do not play at Edinboro University…so this is not a home court advantage. GOOD LUCK to ALL TEAMS IN THE PLAYOFFS!!! Support your teams!
