The Mercyhurst Prep girls basketball team impressed the rest of the state with a 22-0 regular season despite two injuries to start the season. As a result, the Lakers have moved up the state rankings throughout the season and have reached the peak at No. 1 in Class AAA. Mercyhurst rival Villa Maria is No. 2 in Class AA, while Girard is No. 7. Franklin is No. 5 in AAA and Kennedy Catholic is No. 4 in A.
On the boys side, General McLane remained at No. 7 in Class AAA, while Mercyhurst Prep is No. 10 in AA. West Middlesex has been impressive this season and is No. 6 in Class A.
