Brunst (29-2) qualified for PIAA Class AAA tournament as the Northwest Region’s second seed at 160 pounds.
The senior won a 7-0 decision over Altoona’s Markief Knode and beat DuBois’ Shane Marshall 5-3 in that meet before he lost to Brian Brill of Central Mountain in the division final.
Brunst, District 10’s AAA champion at 160, is 10th in this week’s Pennsylvania Wrestling Rankings. His first-round opponent in the PIAA tournament today in Hershey will be Ringgold senior Jake Wisener (38-4), the Southwest Region’s second seed.
