Friday’s PIAA quarterfinal sites announced

District 10 had four teams advance to the quarterfinals on Tuesday and they will head to three sites on Friday. General McLane will play a much-anticipated matchup with Montour at Sharon High School at 7 p.m.

In Class A, West Middlesex will take on WPIAL powerhouse Lincoln Park at Slippery Rock’s Morrow Field House at 7:30 p.m., while VisionQuest and Ridgway meet at Clarion’s Tippin Gymnasium at 8 p.m. Villa Maria and Forest Hills will start the doubleheader at Clarion at 6:30 p.m. in a Class AA girls game.

That makes perfect sense, one of the biggest AAA games of the year at a dump of a high school with no parking, and the A game at a college gym. Why not a double header at Slippery Rock. Is someone from Sharon on the locations committee?

  2. Tom Reisenweber says:

Honestly, the only thing I can think of is they wanted to give the game its own site with how many fans could be coming. SRU had to host two games as it is the perfect site for Seton-Cranberry. I am betting they were worried that the Cranberry and Seton fans wouldn’t clear out in time for McLane and Montour fans in the second game.

    Thanks,
    Tom
