In the first week of all five polls in action, fans cast nearly 4,000 votes for their breakout athletes of the week. The baseball and softball polls were highly competitive with Girard’s Justin Strubel holding off Alex Caruana (Northwestern) in baseball, while Brittany Miniaci of Northwestern had a huge push on Tuesday to win the softball poll. Maplewood’s Justin Dahl won the inaugural spring athlete poll, and Warren duo Tanner Rosenberg and Casey Kulka took home the track polls.
