Erie Times-News Breakout Baseball Player of the Week: Justin Strubel Girard

Justin Strubel

Girard junior Justin Strubel did it all for the YellowJackets in a convincing 14-0 win over East.

The outfielder/pitcher went 4-for-4 from the plate and earned the win on the mound in five innings. Strubel scored two runs and drove in one at the plate to add to the offense, while striking out seven on the mound. He didn’t walk a batter and held East to four hits in the five-inning win.

The YellowJackets are off to a 2-3 start this season to match last year’s win total. Girard will start a four-game road trip on Monday at Fort LeBoeuf.
