Erie Times-News Breakout Baseball Player of the Week: Zack Borsa, McDowell

McDowell seems to come up with tough pitchers each season and Zack Borsa is the latest Trojan to impress.

Borsa, a left-handed pitcher, struck out nine, allowed one hit and walked one in an 8-0 shutout of Meadville. Borsa is 2-0 this season with 15 strikeouts and has allowed one earned run in 13 1⁄3 innings pitched.

The junior also contributes as a backup outfielder but could be key down the stretch as McDowell looks to defend its District 10 Class AAAA championship and make a run in the PIAA playoffs.
