Erie Times-News District 10 Baseball Player of the Week: Ryan Platz, McDowell

Ryan Platz

McDowell senior Ryan Platz finds different ways to contribute each time he steps onto the field.

Whether it’s coming up with a clutch hit, making solid plays in right field or putting together a good start on the mound, Platz is contributing to the Trojans’ terrific season.

Against St. Edward (Ohio), Platz became a hero when he ripped an RBI single to give McDowell a 6-5 walk-off win in the bottom of the seventh inning.

Platz has driven in nine runs this season and is 2-0 with a 0.58 ERA in 12 innings on the mound.
