Rivalry week concludes Friday

The Cathedral Prep-McDowell rivalry seems to be intense no matter which sport the two schools meet in. On Tuesday, the Ramblers took the first part of rivalry week by winning a Region 5 track and field dual against the Trojans. The two rivals split Wednesday in lacrosse and baseball. Prep beat McDowell 8-4 in lacrosse at Gus Anderson Field, while the Trojans’ baseball team won a 4-3 thriller at Ainsworth Field, which ended on a play at the plate.

The two teams meet one more time in tennis Friday in the District 10 Class AAA tennis team championship. Prep swept McDowell in two regular-season matches to claim the Region 3 championship.
