Erie Times-News Breakout Baseball Player of the Week: Ethan Sowers, North East

Ethan Sowers

Ethan Sowers has found several ways to contribute for North East this season. The junior baseball player is a standout on the pitching staff and has been solid at the plate.

Sowers, who plays the outfield when not on the mound, had two hits, drove in three runs and earned the win on the mound in an 8-3 win over Youngsville last week. He also pitched a three-hitter Thursday in a 2-1 win over Northwestern.

Sowers is the Grapepickers’ second-leading hitter with a .303 average, including eight RBIs.

He is also 2-1 with a 2.80 ERA and 18 strikeouts in 30 innings.
