With no seniors on its baseball team, Mercyhurst Prep needed a boost from its underclassmen. Emmitt Lehman was the player to provide it.
Lehman, a junior, went 3-for-3 with three RBIs and scored three times in a 15-4 win over Conneaut Lake in the District 10 Class A semifinals.
Lehman hit .292 this season with 25 runs scored and 11 stolen bases. He had a fielding percentage of .919 and even pitched a few innings, finishing with a 2.10 ERA.
