Erie Times-News Breakout Baseball Player of the Week: Emmitt Lehman, Mercyhurst Prep

Emmitt Lehman

With no seniors on its baseball team, Mercyhurst Prep needed a boost from its underclassmen. Emmitt Lehman was the player to provide it.

Lehman, a junior, went 3-for-3 with three RBIs and scored three times in a 15-4 win over Conneaut Lake in the District 10 Class A semifinals.

Lehman hit .292 this season with 25 runs scored and 11 stolen bases. He had a fielding percentage of .919 and even pitched a few innings, finishing with a 2.10 ERA.

    Congratulations Emmitt on a great year and season. I am proud of you as a player and grandson. I would like to thank the whole Mercyhurst baseball team for all your hard work and great season. Remember there is no I in team and you as players showed that this season. BE PROUD!!!!
