The fans have spoken on who they think will win each boys and girls soccer region. Mercer (Region 1), Hickory (Region 2), Mercyhurst Prep (Region 3), Warren (Region 4), General McLane (Region 5) and Cathedral Prep (Region 6) were the poll winners in boys soccer. Five of those six predictions would be repeat champions from 2011. The only winner listed not to win their region last fall is Hickory. The Hornets finished third last season behind Region 2 champion Slippery Rock and runner-up Grove City.
District 10 contracted in girls soccer to six regions this fall. A big part of that move was the shuffling of classes by the PIAA. The eastern teams that played in the spring joined the fall, which bulked up Class A. Here is a look at the fan’s predictions on the new regions: Kennedy Catholic (Region 1), Slippery Rock and Hickory (Region 2), Fairview (Region 3), Mercyhurst Prep (Region 4), Harbor Creek (Region 5) and McDowell (Region 6).
