McDowell’s football schedule was tough enough at nine games. The Trojans have added another state champion to complete the 10-week schedule. McDowell will travel to Mansion Park in Altoona on Sept. 15 to take on Lancaster Catholic. The Crusaders defeated Tyrone 17-7 in last fall’s PIAA Class AA championship. Lancaster Catholic moved up to Class AAA in the offseason.
McDowell already has Ohio powerhouses Mentor, Cardinal Mooney, St. Ignatius and St. Edward on the schedule along with Erie County powers Cathedral Prep, General McLane and Strong Vincent.
