Breakout player of the week polls are back

The first edition of the breakout player of the week polls will be posted late Saturday night. In the fall, there will be polls for football, boys soccer, girls soccer, girls volleyball and a fall athlete. The fall athlete poll will consist of girls tennis, boys golf, girls golf, boys cross country and girls cross country.

Fans are encouraged to send nominations to sports@timesnews.com by Saturday at 5 p.m. each week. Please include name, year and reasons why the athlete should be on the poll.

Beginning late Tuesday night, the breakout team of the week poll also returns. Fans can also nominates teams but the deadline is each Tuesday at 5 p.m.
