Erie Times-News Breakout Athlete of the Week nominees

Fans can vote for the Breakout Team of the Week on the top right corner of the page. Voting continues through Friday at 4:59 p.m. with the winner being featured Sunday in the Erie Times-News. Teams who have won the award this season are no longer eligible. Fans are encouraged to nominate teams by 5 p.m. each Tuesday.

Football
Brennan Wassil, Kennedy Catholic – Threw for 212 yards and three touchdowns to help the Golden Eagles upset Mercer 18-13.
Cornelius Barclay, Mercyhurst Prep – Scored 40 points, including six touchdowns, in a 41-34 win over Cochranton. Barclay ran for 279 yards and six touchdowns on 17 carries and kicked four extra points.
Chad Eisenhooth, Cochranton - Threw for 235 yards and three touchdowns in a 41-34 loss to Mercyhurst Prep.
Josh Reinke, Union City – Scored four touchdowns and had more than 200 yards of offense in a 34-31 win over Maplewood. Reinke ran for 108 yards and one touchdown on 14 carries and caught seven passes for 106 yards and three touchdowns.
Colton Noble, Cambridge Springs – Carried the ball 29 times for 288 yards and three touchdowns in a 30-13 win over Youngsville.
Tyler Donati, Wilmington – Had 159 yards and two crucial touchdowns on 27 carries in a 35-28 win over Hickory.
DeShawn Coleman, Hickory – Continued his terrific senior season with three touchdowns in a 35-28 loss to Wilmington. Coleman ran for 90 yards and two touchdowns and caught three passes for 59 yards and one touchdown.
Nik Dombkowski, Fort LeBoeuf - Rushed for two touchdowns and threw a 19-yard touchdown pass in a 35-6 win over Seneca.
Rocky Owens, North East - Scored three times in a 24-6 win over Harbor Creek. Owens ran for two touchdowns and 230 yards while also returning a punt 27 yards for a touchdown.
Matt Cragg, Corry – Had five touchdowns in a 49-27 win over Fairview. Cragg ran for 197 yards and four touchdowns on 32 carries and returned a kickoff 94 yards for a touchdown.
Shannon Jackson, Fairview – Finished with 29 carries for 242 yards and three touchdowns in a 49-27 loss to Corry.
Aidan Graham, General McLane – Had a hand in three touchdowns to lead the Lancers to a 42-19 win over Oil City. Graham ran for 164 yards and two touchdowns and launched a 58-yard touchdown pass.
Ryan Currie, Slippery Rock – Rushed for three touchdowns and threw for one in a 28-18 win over Central Tech.
James Conner, McDowell – Had a career day with 246 yards and three touchdowns on only eight carries in a 49-20 win over Lancaster Catholic. His touchdown runs were from 73, 92 and 68 yards.
Damion Terry, Cathedral Prep – Had a hand in four touchdowns as the Ramblers routed Lake Catholic 37-6. Terry threw for 227 yards and three touchdowns and also ran for one.
Jauwan Ford, East - Threw for 299 yards and two touchdowns and also ran for one in a 41-30 loss to Meadville. His touchdown passes to Avery Kirksey were for 61 and 78 yards.
Nathan Martin, Meadville - Rushed for two touchdowns and caught an 8-yard touchdown pass in a 41-30 win over East.
Jesse Rodgers, Sharon – Rushed for 116 yards and three touchdowns and also threw for one in a 35-33 loss to Titusville.

Boys soccer
Donte Green, Hickory – Dominated in goal to shut out Strong Vincent 1-0.
Jimmie D’Onofrio, Kennedy Catholic – Scored twice and had an assist in a 3-1 win over Conneaut (Ohio). He also scored in a 2-0 upset of Slippery Rock.
Cole McCandless, Slippery Rock - Has two goals and one assist in a 3-2 win over Knoch.
Logan Mooney, Franklin – Scored three goals and had three assists in an 8-0 win over Oil City.
Nick Varsek, Oil City – Had two goals and one assist in a 4-0 win over Seneca.
Tyler Bone, Conneaut – Scored with 25 seconds left to give the Eagles a 1-0 win over Saegertown.
Anthony Martone, Fairview – Scored in a 5-0 win over Mercer and had the only goal in a 1-0 win over Warren.
Jory Zajac, Sharon - Had two goals in a 5-0 win over West Middlesex.
Marc Delio, Wilmington – Scored in double overtime to give the Greyhounds a 3-2 win over Commodore Perry.
Santos Guerra, Central Tech – Scored twice in a 6-2 win over Girard.
Eldin Sabic, McDowell – Had four goals in a 9-1 win over Strong Vincent.
Koltin Hammer, Harbor Creek – Had three goals in a 4-2 win over McDowell.
Cole Latimer, Grove City – Scored six minutes into overtime to give the Eagles a 1-0 win over Saegertown.
Hunter Mohney, Warren – Had the game-winning goal in a 3-2 win over Mercyhurst Prep.
Dan Ahn, General McLane – Scored twice in a 3-1 win over Corry.
Trevor Falkner, Cathedral Prep – Had three goals in a 6-1 win over Fort LeBoeuf.

Girls soccer
Sarah Mild, West Middlesex - Had one goal and two assists to help the Big Reds beat Maplewood 5-1 and pick up the program’s second win.
Jackie White, Hickory – Put together a hat trick in a 10-0 win over Sharpsville.
Chandli Hasenplug, Sharpsville - Scored three goals in a 4-1 win over Meadville.
Jessica Mihalic, Fairview – Had three goals in a 7-1 win over Conneaut.
Laura Schaefer, General McLane – Dished out four assists and scored one goal in a 6-1 win over Seneca. She also had two goals in a 6-0 win over North East.
Jordan Oberlander, Fort LeBoeuf – Scored three goals in a 6-0 win over Sharon.
Jeanette Koeth, Seneca – Had three goals in a 6-0 win over Iroquois.
Caroline Mashyna, McDowell – Finished with three goals and two assists in a 9-0 win over Corry.
Bre Klenz, North East – Scored three times in a 10-0 win over Maplewood.
Faith Champion, Titusville – Scored three times in a 3-0 win over Conneaut.

Girls volleyball
Victoria Tomko, Hickory – Collected 57 digs in seven matches as the Hornets competed in the Grove City tournament.
Kristen Scurpa, Sharpsville – Dished out 24 assists in a sweep of Reynolds. She also had 23 assists in a sweep of Jamestown.
Taylor Reed, Lakeview – Had 28 assists in a sweep of Jamestown.
Allison Mild, West Middlesex – Finished with 11 digs and 22 assists in a five-set thrilling win over Kennedy Catholic. She also had 26 assists in a sweep of Commodore Perry.
Yasir Muhammad, Kennedy Catholic – Had 20 assists, six digs and five kills in a sweep last week.
Abby Jones, Franklin – Finished with 20 kills and nine blocks in a five-set win over Rocky Grove.
Kendell Dickson, Cochranton – Had 13 kills and 11 digs in a thrilling win over Saegertown.
Rayna Hollarn, North East – Finished with seven kills and 32 assists in a four-set win over Fairview. She had 12 kills, 60 assists and seven digs in the Corry tournament.
Lindsay Jahn, General McLane – Had 11 kills in a sweep of Northwestern. She also had 13 kills, six blocks and six digs in a win over North East.
Maria Peluso, Fort LeBoeuf - Collected 17 kills and 12 digs in a four-set win over Iroquois. She also had 10 kills in a sweep of Seneca.
Challen Litwiler, Conneaut – Had 18 kills in a four-set win over Corry.
Monica Jackson, Meadville – Collected 11 kills and nine digs in a sweep of Warren. She also had nine kills in a sweep of Oil City.
Leah Vensel, McDowell – Had 24 assists over two matches this past week.
McKenzie Fails, Girard – Dished out 30 assists in a win over Fairview.

Fall athlete
Lexi Bible, Hickory cross country – Won the Commodore Perry Invitational with a time of 20 minute, 24 seconds.
Kyle Boyd, Hickory cross country – Won the Commodore Perry Invitational by more than 10 seconds with a time of 17:45.
Rosy Hearns, Hickory golf - Shot a 40 to lead the Hornets to a Region 1 mega-match win.
Adrianna Jeffress, McDowell tennis – Continued her undefeated season this past week with a huge No. 1 singles win against Mercyhurst Prep.
Lauren Petrella, Fairview tennis – Picked up a win over Mercyhurst Prep at No. 1 singles and is a strong favorite for the D-10 Class AA singles title.
Abby Fessler, Villa Maria golf - Shot a 39 for the low round at a Region 2 mega-match.
Justin Latsko, Fort LeBoeuf golf – Finished with a 71 to shoot the low round at a Region 6 mega-match.
Mark Chang, Saegertown golf – Was the top golfer at a Region 4 mega-match with a round of 74.
Ryan Podufal, Cathedral Prep golf – Helped the Ramblers clinch the Region 7 championship with a 37 at a mega-match.
Ben Luce, Union City cross country – Ran the Penn State Behrend Invitational course in 17 minutes, 33 seconds to walk away with the title.
Courtney Sargent, Strong Vincent cross country – Ran a time of 20:13 to win the Penn State Behrend Invitational.
Ryan Smathers, North East cross country – Won the Slippery Rock Invitiational with a time of 16:07.
Lukas Hallett, General McLane cross country – Came in second at the Slippery Rock Invitational Class AA race with a time of 17:00.
