The Mercyhurst Prep girls golf team finished in second place at the PIAA Class AA team championships today at the Heritage Hills Golf Resort and Conference Center in York. Georgia Capotis led the Lakers with an 85, while Grace Brzozowski shot an 87. Mercyhurst finished with a team score of 368, while District 7 champion Central Valley won the state title with a 342. Radnor won the Class AAA girls team championship with a 325.
District 10 Class AA boys champion Harbor Creek finished in sixth with a team score of 349. Teven Vargo had the top round for the Huskies with an 85, while Jacob VanSlyke shot an 87. Harbor Creek finished just three strokes behind fifth-place Notre Dame-Green Pond.
In Class AAA boys, Meadville took sixth place with a score of 337. Zack Ford shot a 79 and Charlie Hold had an 80.
