Tuesday’s playoff soccer and volleyball updates

Check back throughout the night for updates from the first round of the PIAA soccer and volleyball playoffs. We will have updates from the six remaining District 10 soccer teams and four remaining volleyball teams.

Update 32
Quaker Valley ends General McLane’s upset bid with 10:40 left in double overtime. Heck of a job by the Lancers.

GM and Quaker Valley scoreless after one overtime. Reports are that GM keeper Kirk Dillen is playing an outstanding game.

Maplewood volleyball beats West Shamokin 22-25, 25-11, 25-20, 25-23. Much better day for D-10 volleyball than soccer.

McLane and Quaker Valley are still scoreless with nine minutes left.

Upper St. Clair wins 6-0 over McDowell and Harbor Creek wins 2-0 over Belle Vernon in boys soccer. General McLane and Quaker Valley are scoreless at the half.

North Allegheny wins the fourth set 25-18 to beat McDowell in volleyball. Meadville sweeps Somerset 25-21, 25-19, 25-15. Maplewood leads 2-1 in their first round match.

USC leads McDowell 6-0 with 16 minutes to play in Class AAA boys soccer.

Dan Kuhn with a rocket to make it 2-0 Huskies with 17 minutes left. McDowell trails USC 5-0 with 19 minutes left.

Nick Barclay with a terrific save. Harbor Creek leads 1-0 with 20 minutes left.

USC takes a 4-0 lead on McDowell with 30 minutes left. Meadville wins the first set 25-21 over Somerset.

Eric Campbell fires a 35-yard shot to give Harbor Creek a 1-0 lead with 30 minutes left. McDowell wins the third set 25-20 to stay alive. Trojans trail 2-1 in a girls volleyball match.

North Allegheny wins 25-14 in the second set against McDowell. USC leads McDowell 3-0 at the half in Class AAA boys soccer action.

Harbor Creek and Belle Vernon are scoreless at the half. USC leads McDowell 3-0 with six minutes left in the first half.

Fort LeBoeuf wins the third set 25-12 and will head to the quarterfinals in girls volleyball. Mars is beating Clearfield 5-0 in the second half. Looks like a Mercyhurst Prep-Mars rematch in girls soccer Saturday.

Sewickley leads 2-0 early in the second half. The 7 p.m. games are set to get underway soon.

Shady Side leads Fairview 2-0 with 26 minutes left and Mercyhurst leads Belle Vernon 1-0 with 25 minutes left.

Maggie Scott scores for Shady Side to make it 2-0 over Fairview with 35:23 left. 33 minutes left in the MP game with the Lakers still up 1-0.

Halftime at Keck Field. Mercyhurst Prep leads Belle Vernon 1-0 in a PIAA Class AA girls soccer match. Shady Side leads Fairview 1-0 at halftime of a Class A girls match.

Update 4
Shady Side leads 1-0 after a goal from Calsey Holshue. 12:02 left in the first. She then gets a yellow card seven minutes later.

Update 3
Fairview and Shady Side are still scoreless through 20 minutes. Mercyhurst leads Belle Vernon 1-0.

Update 2
Cleveland State recruit Sarah Kaiser wastes no time. She takes a long pass, makes three moves and beats the keeper. 1-0 Lakers with 30 minutes left in the first. Fairview and Shady Side are scoreless through 10 minutes.
