Erie Times-News Breakout Football Player of the Week nominees

Fans can vote for the Breakout Football Player of the Week on the top right corner of the page. Voting continues through Tuesday at 11:59 p.m. with the winner being featured in the Erie Times-News. Athletes who have won the award this season are no longer eligible. Fans are encouraged to nominate teams by 5 p.m. each Saturday.

Note: This is the final breakout football poll of the year.

Luke Patten, West Middlesex – Had 165 yards and three touchdowns on 18 carries in a 42-0 win over Farrell.
Tyler Luchey, Sharpsville – Scored three touchdowns in a 41-34 win over Lakeview. He had three catches for 53 yards and two touchdowns. His second touchdown catch was the game-winner in the fourth quarter. Luchey also returned a fumble 55 yards for a touchdown.
Damion Terry, Cathedral Prep – Threw for 331 yards and four touchdowns in a 54-12 win over Warren.
Delton Williams, Cathedral Prep – Ran for three touchdowns and was a big-time contributor on defense in a 54-12 win over Warren.
Michael Suminski, General McLane – Had 13 carries for 195 yards and four touchdowns ina 46-42 win over Slippery Rock.
Zachary Fox, General McLane – Broke up a fourth-down pass and intercepted another in the final two minutes of a wild 46-42 win over Slippery Rock.
Frank Conlon, Slippery Rock – Ran for 284 yards and two touchdowns in a 46-42 loss to General McLane.
Jake Tarasovitch, McDowell – Had a hand in three touchdowns in a 61-14 win over Perry. He ran for 146 yards, including a 7-yard touchdown, and threw for two touchdowns as well.
James Conner, McDowell – Ran for 129 yards and one touchdown, caught a touchdown pass and also recorded a safety with a sack on defense in a 61-14 win over Perry.
DeShawn Coleman, Hickory – Ran for 190 yards and three touchdowns on four carries in a 35-13 win over Grove City.
Slavi Pontius, Wilmington – With the season on the line, he drilled a 20-yard field goal in the first overtime to tie the Greyhounds’ playoff game with Greenville at 3-3. His extra point in the second overtime turned out to be the difference as Wilmington won 10-9.
