McElhaney resigns at West Middlesex

Head football coach Jason McElhaney has resigned at West Middlesex, leaving District 10 with five openings. His resignation won’t become official until the Jan. 14 West Middlesex School Board meeting. McElhaney coached the Big Reds over the past six seasons to a 36-29 record. Middlesex won the Region 1 championship this fall and advanced to the District 10 Class A championship before falling to Sharpsville 28-0. West Middlesex will begin its search for a new coach immediately. Franklin, Sharon, Titusville and Youngsville are also searching for a new football coach.
