Cathedral Prep, West Middlesex drop in state basketball rankings

Now that the first month of the season is over, the Harrisburg Patriot-News will release weekly high school boys basketball rankings. After an overtime loss in Florida, Cathedral Prep dropped to No. 7 in Class AAAA. West Middlesex had a similar fate with three losses this winter. The Big Reds dropped to No. 9 in Class AA. No other boys basketball team from District 10 is ranked, but Kennedy Catholic (Class A), Lakeview (AA), Mercyhurst Prep (AA), General McLane (AAA), Hickory (AAA), Meadville (AAA) and Warren (AAA) are among the teams to watch.

    That lone Prep loss was a joke.

    Prep was out-shot at the foul line 30-3 and still only lost in OT! I’ve never seen such a disparity in calls.
