Erie Times-News Breakout Team of the Week nominees

Fans can vote for the Breakout Team of the Week on the top right corner of the page. Voting continues through Friday at 4:59 p.m. with the winner being featured Sunday in the Erie Times-News. Teams who have won the award this season are no longer eligible. Fans are encouraged to nominate teams by 5 p.m. each Tuesday.

East bowling – Upset undefeated Villa Maria in Metro League action.
General McLane wrestling – The Lancers continued their impressive season with a region win over Meadville before securing the Tool City tournament championship.
Reynolds wrestling – Defeated rival Fort LeBoeuf and the Raiders are 8-1 this season, including a perfect 6-0 in Region 1 matches.
Sharon wrestling – Moved to 4-0 in Region 1 and is 4-0 overall.
Maplewood wrestling – Dominated over the weekend with five dual wins.
Fairview swimming – The Tigers boys and girls are undefeated at 4-0 this season.
Mercyhurst Prep swimming – Mercyhurst Prep is the only Region 3 program with undefeated boys and girls teams.
Fairview boys basketball – The Tigers keep rolling with key wins, including a 51-48 win over Northwestern and an overtime win against Seneca.
West Middlesex boys basketball – Picked up a big win over Lakeview to take control of Region 2.
Mercyhurst Prep boys basketball – The Lakers keep winning in region games, including a rivalry win over North East.
Girard boys basketball – The YellowJackets upset Warren to stay perfect in Region 6.
Strong Vincent boys basketball – The Colonels knocked off rival East to move to 2-0 in region play.
Kennedy Catholic girls basketball – The Golden Eagles knocked off Girard 43-38 in a non-region showdown.
Conneaut girls basketball - The Eagles are 4-0 in Region 3 and are dominating in the early part of the season.
North East girls basketball – Picked up two big region wins against Seneca and Girard.
General McLane girls basketball – The Lancers knocked off Fairview to remain perfect in region play.
Franklin girls basketball – The Knights beat Hickory to take control of Region 5.
