Erie Times-News Breakout Team of the Week

Fans can vote for the Breakout Team of the Week on the top right corner of the page. Voting continues through Friday at 4:59 p.m. with the winner being featured Sunday in the Erie Times-News. Teams who have won the award this season are no longer eligible. Fans are encouraged to nominate teams by 5 p.m. each Tuesday.

Cathedral Prep basketball – The Ramblers were impressive this past week with a rout of Franklin and an upset of nationally-ranked Bishop O’Connell. Prep has its biggest game of the year Thursday at rival McDowell.
West Middlesex boys basketball – The Big Reds keep rolling and look unbeatable in Region 2.
Mercyhurst Prep boys basketball – The Lakers moved to 8-0 in Region 4 with a 55-44 win over Titusville on Tuesday.
McDowell boys basketball – The Trojans fought back in a thrilling 72-71 overtime win against Buffalo Middle Early College.
General McLane boys basketball - The Lancers picked up another huge win against Strong Vincent to remain in control of Region 6.
East boys basketball - The Warriors upset Girard Tuesday to remain in the playoff race.
Sharon boys basketball – The Tigers are still in the Region 5 playoff race thanks to an overtime win against Meadville on Tuesday.
Saegertown boys basketball - The Panthers took control of Region 3 by knocking off Conneaut Friday.
Kennedy Catholic boys basketball – The Golden Eagles look unstoppable in Region 1.
Erie First boys basketball – The Eagles moved to 15-1 Tuesday.
Sharon wrestling – The Tigers dominated at the North East Classic to finish in second place.
Fort LeBoeuf wrestling - Shut out Harbor Creek to remain perfect in Region 3.
Reynolds wrestling - Beat Sharon 56-16 to stay on top of Region 1 at 7-0.
Fairview swimming – The Tigers are undefeated in boys and girls duals and the boys won the Iroquois Invitational on Saturday.
Cathedral Prep swimming – Picked up and impressive non-region win over Cleveland power St. Ignatius.
McDowell bowling – The Trojans keep rolling in the Metro League and are a few wins from locking up the league title.
Cathedral Prep hockey - Had an impressive 4-1 win over Meadville.
Commodore Perry girls basketball - Climbed back into the playoff race with an overtime win against Rocky Grove.
Sharpsville girls basketball - The Blue Devils are a perfect 6-0 in Region 2.
Conneaut girls basketball – The Eagles are in complete control of Region 3.
General McLane girls basketball – The Lancers haven’t lost in 2013 and they have a huge game with Girard on Friday.
Franklin girls basketball – The Knights dominated Rochester East in the MLK Showcase and have only one loss this season.
