Ever thought about throwing the ball up in the air to run the clock out? That’s the last mistake Mt. Vernon made on Saturday in the Class AA Section 1 championship in New York. New Rochelle Khalil Edney flicked a 55-foot shot one-tenth of a second before the buzzer to give his team a 61-60 win. Officials initially waved off the shot before huddling together and confirming it was good after massive confusion and both teams thinking they had won the game.
