Results of District 10 wrestlers from Thursday’s PIAA Class AAA tournament at the Giant Center in Hershey. Each result will include a note on that particular match. Updates will be provided as soon as possible. The top eight wrestlers in each division will receive medals:

Championship first round

Joe Wheeling (General McLane) won an 8-4 decision over Collyn Dorney (Quakertown). Wheeling rallied from a three-point deficit after the first period.
Charlie Lenox (McDowell) lost a 12-6 decision to Luke Pletcher (Greater Latrobe). No shame for the Trojans’ freshman, who lost to the nationally-ranked WPIAL participant.

Hunter Hendricks (General McLane) lost an 8-3 decision to Tanner Shoap (Chambersburg). Hendricks dropped into the division’s consolation bracket at 19-9.
Jake Gromacki (Cathedral Prep) won a 16-3 major decision over Derek Carlisle (Spring Grove). Gromacki (30-2) won what he called his most complete state match.
120 pounds
Paul Deitz (McDowell) won an 8-6 overtime decision over Jason Bing (Pennsbury). Deitz rallied to force the extra minute late in the third period, and then won the match on a takedown 22 seconds into it.

D.J. Fehlman (Warren) lost a 5-2 decision to Chase Zemenak (Nazareth). Warren County’s lone AAA state entrant dropped into the consolation bracket at 32-3.

Nick Gibson (McDowell) won a 17-8 major decision over Alex Smith (Manheim Township). Gibson’s victory wasn’t even that close, as he scored his first 14 points over the first two periods.

Shawn Spearman (McDowell) lost a 2-1 decision to Chad Wickard (Big Spring). First place in the 138 AAA division won’t remain in the Spearman family, as Wickard records a reverse of Spearman, younger brother of two-time state champion Steve Spearman, with 53 seconds left in the third period.
145 pounds
Cody Nolan (McDowell) was pinned in 2:49 by Josh Shields (Franklin Regional). Nolan (30-11) needs to win his consolation match later tonight to keep alive his scholastic career.

Dan Krysiak (Cathedral Prep) won a 12-2 major decision over Dyvon Gibson (Easton). Krysiak broke open his opener against Gibson in the second period with a two-point throw that ended up in a three-point near fall for a 5-0 advantage.
Mike Sutton (General McLane) lost a 7-2 decision to Brendan Burnham (Pine-Richland). Sutton (30-4) drops into a consolation first-rounder against Norristown’s Rashon Lusane.

Ehrin Lee (Titusville) lost a 2-1 tiebreaker decision to Abner Thompson (Academy Park). Lee (31-7) is Crawford County’s only representative in the AAA meet.
Tyree Spearman (McDowell) won a 6-3 decision over Andy Francos (Wilson). Spearman never trailed, but largely had to win the match with defense until he got an insurance takedown in the waning seconds.
Ossie Bowers (General McLane) lost a 15-5 major decision to Garrett Peppelman (Central Dauphin). Bowers (36-8) lost to one of the state’s better lineages in scholastic wrestling.

Chris Laird (General McLane) lost a 15-4 major decision to Cooper Deller (Dallastown). Laird (34-5) was the Lancers’ last chance to have a second championship quarterfinalist besides Wheeling.

Andrew Welton (Central Tech) won by a pin in 2:45 over Daulton Romano (Southern Lehigh). If Welton (32-1) wins his quarterfinal match Friday, he’ll become the Falcons’ first-ever state medalist.

Charlie Lenox (McDowell) was pinned at 6:07 by Zach Elvin (Central Dauphin). Elvin’s fall in the first 30-second tiebreaker ended Lenox’s freshman season at 32-16.

Hunter Hendricks (General McLane) lost a 12-7 decision to A.J. Wilkins (Gateway). Hendricks was eliminated with an overall record of 19-10 in his freshman season for the Lancers.

Shawn Spearman (McDowell) lost a 13-11 decision to Cole Franklin (Emmaus). The back-and-forth match wasn’t decided until Franklin reversed Spearman with 9 seconds left in regulation.

Cody Nolan (McDowell) lost a 3-1 decision to Matthew Mirth (Southern Lehigh). Nolan’s mat career with the Trojans ended with a 30-12 record as a senior.

Mike Sutton (General McLane) won a 3-2 decision over Rashon Lusane (Norristown). Sutton cross-faced Lusane for the decisive two-point takedown with 20 seconds left in regulation.

Ehrin Lee (Titusville) won a 10-3 decision over Lucas Markowitz (Delaware Valley). Lee (32-7) did most of his scoring damage in the second period to keep his junior season alive.
Ossie Bowers (General McLane) won an 8-3 decision in overtime over Ben Schweiger (North Allegheny). Bowers got his winning takedown-and-near fall move as time expired in the extra minute.
