Erie Times-News Breakout Boys Basketball Player of the Week: Coty Gander, Lakeview

Coty Gander

Lakeview has two standout 1,000-point scorers in Dalton Boggs and Casey Greggs, but big man Coty Gander continues to make his mark on this magical playoff run for the Sailors.

Gander, a 6-foot 2-inch senior center, hit a pair of free throws with 15 seconds left to clinch an exciting 44-40 win over Quaker Valley in the first round of the PIAA playoffs.

He scored 10 points in the win and was 4-of-4 from the free throw line in the fourth quarter. Gander then scored 15 points to lead Lakeview to a 49-41 upset of Greensburg Central Catholic in the second round.
