Erie Times-News Breakout Athlete of the Week nominees

Fans can vote for the Breakout Athlete of the Week on the top right corner of the page. Voting continues through Tuesday at 11:59 p.m. with the winners being featured in the Erie Times-News. Fans are encouraged to nominate athletes by 5 p.m. each Saturday by sending an e-mail to sports@timesnews.com. Athletes who have won this season are no longer eligible.

Note: This week is a combined poll from every sport because of a lack of events so far. Starting next week, there will be polls for baseball, softball, boys track and field, girls track and field and spring athlete.

Jordan Anderson, Grove City baseball – Had a two-run single in a 7-4 loss to Neshannock.
Anthony Concilla, Harbor Creek baseball – Had two hits and drove in two runs during an 8-5 loss to Fredonia (N.Y.).
Tom Connell, Fairview baseball - Went 3-for-5 with four RBIs and earned the win on the mound in a 19-1 win over Trinity Christian (W.Va.).
Justin Eby, North East baseball - Drove in two runs and scored in a 9-2 win over Whitley County.
Mackenzie Hewett, McDowell softball - Struck out 11 and had only one walk in a complete-game win on the mound as McDowell beat Morgantown (W.Va.) 7-2.
Haley Hess, Strong Vincent softball – Pitched six strong innings and had two hits in a 1-0 loss to Piedmont.
Raven Rozantz, Fairview softball – Had a one-hit shutout in a 13-0 win over Minford (Ohio). She struck out eight batters and went 2-for-2 with two RBIs and three runs scored at the plate. She also pitched seven strong innings allowing two hits and one unearned run in a 2-1 win over Carmichaels. She also struck out 15 and scored a run.
Brian Dailey, Cathedral Prep lacrosse – Scored four goals and had three assists in a 22-9 loss to Chagrin Falls (Ohio).
Ryan Campbell, Mercyhurst Prep tennis – Had a convincing 6-0, 6-0 singles win in the Lakers’ sweep of Corry.
Nick Donovan, McDowell tennis – Picked up two big wins as the Trojans beat Nichols (N.Y.) and Fairview.
Mitchell Wood, Saegertown – Went 5-for-9 with four runs scored and two RBIs during the Panthers’ spring trip.
