Ricketts headlines five D-10 selections on the girls basketball all-state team

Kennedy Catholic star and Akron recruit Alex Ricketts has been named to the Class A all-state first team by the Pennsylvania Sports Writers. Ricketts averaged 17.5 points per game for the Golden Eagles, which won another District 10 Class A championship.

D-10 was well-represented in Class AAA as Karlee McBride of Villa Maria earned her third all-state selection by being named to the second team. Franklin junior Angelina Starr, who is already over 1,000 career points, was also named to the second team in AAA.

D-10 also picked up two Class AA selections. North East senior Alex Artise, a Mercyhurst recruit that was named the District 10 Player of the Year, was put on the second team and Sharpsville star McKenzie Popatak made the third team.
