Weather wipes out second day of Erie County Classic

The two-day Erie County Classic abruptly became a one-day event when heavy rain and lightning pounded Harbor Creek High School’s Paul J. Weitz Stadium shortly before Friday’s track and field action was supposed to start.

Harbor Creek athletic director Andy Krahe said the remainder of the meet was cancelled because of the weekend weather forecasts, as well as the upcoming District 10 meets. The Class AAA competition will take place there Wednesday, with the Class AA meet scheduled for Saturday.
