  1. Brad says:

Any early anticipations of teams to keep an eye on this fall?

  2. Tom Reisenweber says:

    Brad,
I think an interesting team could be Girard in Class AA. Erie County still has a long way to go to playing with the southern teams but Girard might be the best team in Region 4 along with Northwestern. Class AAA will probably be Cathedral Prep again despite big graduation losses. Sharpsville is always an interesting team because they stay competitive despite losses and injuries every season. I’ll have more as the summer goes on. Summer Huddle starts Sunday with Bradford.

    Thanks,
    Tom

  3. Dave says:

Tom, do you think it will be Middlesex and Sharpsville going at it again? Middlesex still has great players and (reliable) word is that Middlesex’s quarterback is an early Division 1 interest of the likes of Rutgers and Penn State…

  4. Tom Reisenweber says:

    Dave,
Definitely a possibility those two meet in the D-10 championship. I could see Lakeview and Mercer sneaking up on teams and Farrell in its second year back with Jarrett Samuels is going to be a contender, but I think WM and Sharpsville are the top of the heap in A.

Trey Staunch, the WM quarterback, is someone to keep an eye on in several sports this year.

    Thanks,
    Tom

  5. Bill says:

Why do I keep hearing watch out for girard. Am I missing something?

  6. Tom Reisenweber says:

Girard has experience and probably the best QB-WR combo in Region 4. I think Northwestern is the favorite in Region 4 and Girard is a close second.

    Thanks,
    Tom

  7. Bill says:

What about their run game do they have anyone?

  8. Tom Reisenweber says:

Kel Barnes is back, a 1,000-yard rusher.
