2012 overall record: 3-7
2012 region record (place): 2-5 (sixth)
2012 playoff results: Did not qualify for the District 10 playoffs

Top returning players: Colton Noble, Devin Walker, Zac Stafford
Assistant coaches: Jason Turner, Justin Grubbs, James Beach, Bryan Costa, Dave Haregsin, Steve Reisenauer, Brian Babb
Outlook: Cambridge Springs could be a team to watch in Region 2 this season. The Blue Devils went through some growing pains in 2012 but have most of their team back this fall. Cambridge will have to replace Quentin Stafford, but he was injured in Week 2 last season. Colton Noble, Devin Walker and Zac Stafford are back to lead the experienced Blue Devils this season. Noble, a running back and linebacker, ran for 924 yards and six touchdowns, had 139 receiving yards and one touchdown and recorded 99 tackles. Walker threw for 925 yards and seven touchdowns and ran for 295 yards and six touchdowns as a quarterback, while Stafford ran for 332 yards and three touchdowns, had 312 receiving yards and two touchdowns and pulled down five interceptions at safety. Stafford and Noble are back to start on both sides of the ball, while Jim seniors Jim Banks and Mike Payer along with junior Juston Tapper and sophomore Blaine Wolfrom are back to start on both the offensive and defensive lines. Stafford was voted to the all-region second team at wide receiver as a sophomore, and Noble was voted to the second team as a linebacker. The Blue Devils have several upperclassmen linemen looking to fight for playing time, including Ryan East, Ian Landers and Elliot Johnson. The backfield is set with Gavin Hohn seeing time at running back and sophomore Kris Silbaugh back at wide receiver. Nick Pearson, Stevie Reisenauer and Cody Lanning could be in the mix for playing time in the backfield, while the defensive backfield is wide open. Hahn, Stafford and Jackson Miller look like strong candidates to start at defensive back with Luke LeSuer and Nick Pearson at linebacker. With plenty of experience back, coach Clint Rauscher is looking for two of his backs to rush for 1,000 yards and Walker to throw for 1,000 yards this season. He is also looking for the defense to improve and limit the points allowed. The Blue Devils allowed 28.9 points per game last season, including five games with at least 30 points allowed. Cambridge will open the season at rival Saegertown before getting right into a huge Region 2 road game at Cochranton. The Blue Devils also play Class AA Fort LeBoeuf in the non-region schedule and they have to go to Iroquois and Union City in region play. Cambridge Springs won two region games last year and missed the playoffs. Look for the Blue Devils to be much improved this season and contending for not only a playoff spot but the region title as well.
