Area American Legion teams set for Region 8 tourney

Many current and former District 10 baseball players will be in action today when the American Legion Region 8 Tournament is scheduled to open at Northwestern High School.

Here’s the Region 8 preview story from today’s Erie Times-News.

Albion, the host team and Erie County runner-up, advanced to the region tourney along with Erie County champion Millcreek. Other qualifiers are Crawford County runner-up French Creek Valley, which is scheduled to face Millcreek in the opening game at 10 a.m. Crawford County League champion Franklin will play defending Region 8 champion Wilcox at 1 p.m. Youngsville, Fox Township and Warren are the other qualifiers.

The Varsity blog will keep readers updated if the tournament is delayed because of the overnight rain.

At Northwestern High School, Albion
Today
10 a.m.: Millcreek vs. French Creek Valley.
1 p.m.: Franklin vs. Wilcox
4 p.m.: Youngsville vs. Fox Township
7:30 p.m.: Albion vs. Warren
