Win Kickoff magazine by identifying athletes in Varsity blog header

The opening day of the 2013-14 season for fall high school sports is Aug. 30. (Golf and girls tennis already have begun.)

With that in mind, soon will be changing the Varsity blog header to include current high school athletes. Before we switch to a new set of athletes, the Varsity blog challenges readers to identify all seven athletes from the 2012-13 header above.

The first person to correctly identify all seven athletes will win a free edition of the 2013 Kickoff football preview magazine. If no one can identify all seven, the first person to name six will win.  If no one can identify six, the first person to name five will win … and so on.

Readers can share their answers in two ways:

1. List the names and schools of the athletes in the comment section below. (We will not post any comments until the contest is over, so readers’ answers will not be seen.)

2. Send an e-mail to us at and put “Varsity blog athletes” in the subject line.

The deadline is Friday at 4 p.m.

Show us your knowledge of District 10 sports, and see how many of the seven D-10 athletes above you can identify.
