Trojans, Ramblers ready for D-10 soccer final

This season, as in each since the original District 10 boys soccer tournament in 1980, Cathedral Prep or McDowell will win the Class AAA title.

The rivals will meet for the third time in Thursday’s 6 p.m. match at Veterans Stadium. Prep, which eliminated Central Tech in the semifinals, goes in at 11-7 overall and McDowell at 12-4.

Prep and McDowell split their regular season meetings. The Trojans won 1-0 in double overtime at Gus Anderson Field on Oct. 3, while the Ramblers countered with a 3-1 victory at Dollinger Field on Oct. 22.

Thursday’s winner automatically advances to the first round of the PIAA Class AAA tournament, where a District 7 opponent awaits.
