Assistant coach: Julie Parker
Outlook: Iroquois remains competitive each year but needs to start knocking off the top teams in order to contend for the region and district championships. The Braves lost several talented players, including all-region first-team middle hitter Tyler Kosko to graduation. Iroquois returns experience and depth this fall. Hannah Tombaugh was voted to the all-region second team as a setter last year and can be the “X” factor for the Braves this season. Also back are senior middle-hitters Theresa Kightlinger and Kim Lux. Kightlinger is being recruited on the Division III level, while Lux is a force at 6 feet, 4 inches. The big strength for the Braves might be their sophomore class. Jen Johnson, Annie Hatton, Ashley Benovic, Leah Morrison, Kali Lasher, Shelby Olson and Kaitlyn Grimm could all contribute on the varsity level. If the sophomores can step up this season to support Tombaugh, Kightlinger and Lux, the Braves could be heading to the postseason.
